Personality:
The month and year animal signs represent the ‘outer’ personality and this part of Britney’s chart shows some conflicting qualities. The Rooster personality is generally seen as one who likes to see things in their place and everything running like a well oiled machine. Roosters take on responsibility strongly and are dedicated, like to be the one in authority and are always very organized. Roosters, termed as ‘thinkers’ have a sharp analytical mind and can have an equally sharp tongue which can show them to be insensitive, but they like to get to the point on most things without the dilly dallying.

The Boar or Pig on the other hand are ones known to be very generous, free of pretence have great fortitude and like to plan things on a large scale. They are also known to accommodate the requests of all and find it hard to discriminate or identify deception until it may be too late. Self control and discretion are not a strong trait of the Pig sign and management of money is also something that the Pig personality should ensure that a trusted money manager is employed on their behalf.
The Pig personality definitely softens Britney’s Rooster side however she may find herself on one hand having everything organized and managed well, but on the other want to get out and splurge (financially or otherwise). This can be seen in the activities of her public life. The Heavenly Stem element on the day of her birth is the element that represents her personal energy and the other elements influence her day element. All the elements are influenced by the seasons which can indicate their strength and timeliness.
Britney is born on a Yang wood day in a water Pig month. According to the cycle of the 5 elements, water supports wood and both are timely elements, therefore indicates her day element is strong.

We first need to look at what element she needs for her success. In order to do this we need to understand the relationships of the 5 elements. There is a supporting, controlling and draining relationship. These can be illustrated as follows:

For Britney’s chart because her day element (wood) is strong, the element that drains or controls her day element would be beneficial for her. This would be the fire element. Another element that is useful to her would be the metal element. This element controls the wood element and provides some self control and structure. Use of the metal element can assist depending on other elemental influences at the time such as luck and year elements. The reason for this consideration is that Britney has more than one metal element in her birth chart which holds some foundation already.
The fire element relates to her performance, self expression, intelligence etc. This element is absent in her birth chart except for a minor hidden element in her spouse element (which I will refer to later), therefore she is reliant on her own actions to generate this element as well as any fire element that may appear in a year or in her luck pillars.
This could indicate times of extreme action but when she is not ‘performing’ or taking action, it could challenge her strong wood day element, as it is not being controlled or drained appropriately.
The metal element can be more useful to her as it exists in her chart and can create the flow and control needed to manage her wood element.
Britney’s public career started late 1999 in her luck pillar of metal on earth. This is a supporting combination and represents power & status as well as wealth. It is a powerful combination to her birth chart and although 1999 was a wood/earth year which would have encouraged her to generate the fire element considerably, her first song was released in a wood/fire month, which released her wood energy and allowed her to generate the wealth and status that was destined for her.
The year 2000 was a great year for her as it was a year of metal/earth, again more wealth and status, along with her physical actions of expression and talent (fire).
The metal element in her chart also refers to either a boss or someone of authority, as well as a husband or partner. As this element is crucial to Britney’s balance, it is obvious that she was keen to find a partner and although it got off to a false start with a fast marriage that was soon annulled in 2004, which may have been part of her Pig personality influence, she eventually tied the knot in 2005, a year of yang wood/metal.
The yang wood to her means friends and the metal is husband/partner. It is interesting to note that her spouse pillar (earthly branch), which signifies the nature of the relationship, has yang wood qualities and signifies that her relationships with her spouse need to be above all a friendship and that she would see her partner as an equal. The spouse element also has hidden elements of fire and earth and provides for her self expression and release from the strong wood. Therefore it would be safe to say that in the long term Britney will always want to have a partner in her life to ensure that her small fire element is burning her strong wood.
Along with self expression, the fire element also means children to Britney. It is also not surprising that her desire to have children is important to her as it helps to represent fire again in her chart. She had two children in fast succession, gave birth to her first in September 2005 and her 2nd in September 2006.
Last year in 2006 was a fire/earth year and there was plenty of fire to balance her chart, therefore the energies may have influenced her decision to file for divorce as the need wasn’t there. She had also just given birth to her 2nd child which represents more fire to her, therefore she may have felt an imbalance. The elements can influence a situation however it is also important to note that the situation needs to be at a point where it will suffer that influence. The example in Britney’s situation would be that if she was already unhappy in her marriage relationship then the element influence at that time would contribute to her decision in breaking this relationship up. If the marriage was rock solid and/or she was aware of this element influence then the marriage would be able to withstand this element influence as time passed.
Britney’s chart also shows a very strong link to her parents and it is known that her mother especially has been an integral part in her life and career path. There also shows a strong bond between her partner or spouse and parents which indicates that it would be important for Britney to have a spouse or partner who can tolerate the closeness in the family that is needed. It would be not surprising if Britney’s parents felt a need to approve of her partners.
When a person born on a strong yang wood element day is not able to properly control this element or other influences come in, the yang wood element cannot bend, like it’s counterpart, the yin wood element. The yang wood element is like a huge old tree, strong and unbending, where the yin wood element is like a young plant with lots of flexibility and movement.
It is interesting to observe Britney’s latest public actions with regards to shaving the hair off her hair.
Firstly Britney is now in a luck pillar of water/wood, again more water and wood to feed her already strong wood element. February 2007 is a water/wood month, yet again more of the same elements. Britney at this point in time is feeling a lot of built up emotions and feelings and while she is not performing, is probably finding ways to express herself and to release the built up wood in her chart. The wood element also refers to hair, therefore it is not surprising again that she took the drastic action of shaving her hair off as the energies around her right now are too strong for her to handle. In fact it is known that a yang wood person who suffers the element influence of too much wood that can’t be released, could go temporarily insane.

As we begin what surely will be known as Britney Week 2007 everyone will be asking the same question. Is Britney Spears insane? Britney's crazy behavior has peaked with the tattoos and now the head shaving. Britney's gone Sinead O'Connor on us and she's starting to make K-Fed look like a genius (never thought I'd say that). The analysis doesn’t stop there though, after Britney had the strong urge to remove her tresses, she then went to a tattoo parlour to get two tattoos. The needle and associated activities are represented by the metal energy. As we know that the metal element is also needed to control her wood element, it is once again not surprising that Britney’s actions were done to gain some control on her extremely strong wood influence at this point in time.
